Superfoods you need to know about.
When Negeri Rempah was invited as moderator of the discussion by Mas Sidi from Spiceland Indonesia in Belgium, we immediately rejoiced. Moreover, Kelor (Moringa) is currently a hype in various platforms, as a new adipangan (superfood) offer.
His work as an active educator of this Moringa introduction in Africa, also tempts us to learn together. Hopefully our moderation could extend the understanding of this bio prospect, as also motivate the planter and MSMEs in the global market.
'Beyond Moringa' is proud to present 3 (three) speakers whose daily activities are related to the topic, namely:
1. Mr. Nasrin H. Muhtar,
as President Director of CV. Tri Utami Jaya. Moringa tea entrepreneur from NTB (West Nusa Tenggara) which is currently on its peak. He was also elected as a Member of the Regional Representative Council for the National Creative Economy Movement (DPW Gekrafs) NTB,
2. Prof. Ir. Sukoso, M.Sc., PhD.,
as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Indonesian Halal Supervisory Professional Association (APPHI), Professor of Marine and Fisheries Biotechnology at the University Brawijaya,
3. Chef Made Runatha,
as Executive Chef/Founder and Owner of Moksa Ubud Plant Based Restaurant, in Ubud Bali. Studying at Living Light, a Chef Institute in the United States.
Kelor (Moringa) is a versatile tropical tree. It is used for food and industrial, medicinal and agricultural uses, including cattle feed. This plant is very nutritious, fast growing, and drought tolerant. Business wise and export potential, when compared to Nigeria which could produce more than four hundred million rupiahs (± USD 28,000) per hectare (Menggala, 2021), it shows that the Moringa business can become a new business trend in Indonesia. Marketing is still becoming an obstacles, while the use of Moringa leaves is very diverse. One of them is for the drug industry which is then reprocessed to treat a disease.
